est. 2015
Lok naach translates to the 'dance of the people'. There is a wide collection of dances belonging to the people indigenous of Punjab. These folk dances have their origins in the villages of Punjab, telling the stories of the people and their way of life. The folk instruments of Punjab give rise to the taal and sur that make these dances so joyous to perform.

Abbotsford Arts Academy aspires to keep the folk dances and instruments of Punjab alive and thriving by passing them onto the Punjabi diaspora living in Canada. With this goal in mind, AAA is hosting its first showcase—Lok Naach 2020 on Friday, June 26th at Abbotsford Arts Centre!
Please join us for an evening of creativity, connecting with friends and family, bridging cultures and nurturing local talent.
